Whole Wheat Baking Mix

I am not usually a “mix” kind of girl, but I have some tried and true “Bisquick” recipes that I reach for in a time pinch. I created this concoction so even when I want to use wheat I can still go for my easy recipes. Don’t worry! If you aren’t a wheat person this recipe is still very valuable. Just use white flour in place of the wheat and you have a cost saving alternative to high priced brand names.

  • 8 cups Whole Wheat Flour, White flour also works wonderfully
  • 4 teaspoons Salt
  • ⅓ cup Baking Powder
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 ½ cups Powdered Milk
  • 1 cup Canola Oil
Place all dry ingredients in bowl of mixer. With mixer on low speed slowly add in canola oil. Mix thoroughly. Store in air tight container in a cool place.
Use within 2 months.
Pancakes: To make pancakes add on cup mix with 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 Tbs. sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder and 1 Tbs. lemon juice. (2 Tbs. egg powder can be substituted for the egg)
Waffles: To make waffles add 2 cups mix with 1 1/3 cup milk, 2 Tbs. canola oil and 1 egg. (2 Tbs. egg powder can be substituted for the egg)
