Powdered Cheese Sauce simplifies the sauce in this warm casserole. If you have cheesy people in your house; you’ve got to try this!
Original Recipe from the Kitchen of Cheryl H.
- 4 cups Dehydrated Potato Dices
- 1 cup Freeze Dried Peas
- 1 cup Powdered Cheese Sauce
- 4 cups Warm Water
- 3 cups Freeze Dried Ham Dices
Bring 3 quarts of water to boil. Add Potato Dices and cook 10 minutes. Add Peas and Ham; cook an additional 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.Meanwhile: Mix Cheese Powder in small bowl of Warm Water until smooth. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. Stir sauce.
Arrange 1/2 of the Potato mixture in greased 2 1/2 qt. casserole. Pour 1/2 the cheese sauce over the top. Add remaining Potato mixture. Top with remaining sauce.
Bake 30-35 minutes and 350 degrees F.
*8 cups fresh diced potatoes can be used in place of the dehydrated.
**1 cup fresh or frozen peas may be used in place of the freeze dried. Fresh peas do not need to be placed in boiling water with potatoes.
***1 cup cubed ham may be used in place of the Freeze Dried. Fresh ham does not need to be placed in boiling water with potatoes.
