So easy and fast to prepare, this makes a wonderful last minute dessert for unexpected company.
Original recipe from the kitchen of Karen.
- 2 cups Soft White Wheat Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 2 pinches Salt
- 4 Tablespoons Whole Egg Powder, *
- 1 ½ cups Sugar
- 2 15 oz. cans Fruit Cocktail, undrained
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- ½ cup Walnuts, chopped
- 1 pkg. Dream Whip Powder
- ½ cup Milk, **
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Preheat oven to 350℉. In a large bowl mix Flour, Baking Soda, Sugar and Egg Powder. Stir in Fruit Cocktail (undrained). Pour in a 9×13 baking pan. Sprinkle evenly with Brown Sugar and Walnuts. Bake for 30-40 minutes OR until toothpick inserted comes out clean.In a cold bowl whip Dream Whip Powder with Milk and Vanilla until soft peaks form. Serve over warm or cooled cake.
*Using fresh today? 2 large eggs work well in this recipe in place of the egg powder.
**Can you use powdered milk in this recipe? I sure did. I just mix up a large pitcher of it according to the directions on my package and keep it in the fridge. Then I add cup for cup the milk called in every recipe I cook.
